I have been researching into various music labels both in the UK and into 'The Big Four': EMI, Warner Music Group, Sony & Universal. I have researched some of the artists who are signed to each label and the genre that they tend to specialise in/represent.
However, I don't believe that any of these small independent labels would be appropriate for my own product. The genre that I am specialising in is pop with the sub genre of pop/rock. These small labels mainly focus on rock, punk and indie music, which is obviously not my specific genre. Therefore, I would be hesitant to approach one of these independent labels as they appear to not have the experience necessary to represent my sub-genre.
