Evaluation Question 1- Conventions (Characters)

Introduction of Characters:

As if conventional of pop/rock music videos, the first introduction to the characters appears to be boring as if the character's (more than usually the band members) have little to no substance. However, once the action has begun, the characters are shown in their true light which I have also included in my own music video.

In my video, the characters go from little action to complete chaos, showing them as foolish, silly and competitive with one another which creates humour for the audience as you see the characters ultimately fail despite their best efforts. The complete contrast in characters is conventional of pop/rock music videos and adds comedy to the video which is also conventional.

The only character who remains sensible throughout is the female character

She remains powerfully confident in her sex appeal and self throughout, which contrasts against the foolish behaviour of the boys. This adds further comedy as you see the world around her fall apart. This depiction of the female being chased is conventional of pop/rock music videos as often the female character has the upper hand which I believe promotes to my target audience positive connotations of confidence and strength in a female.

Below is a Prezi quickly outlining how each character is introduced and how they lose their initial characteristics.
