As someone who is interested in the music industry, I decided that the brief including the music video would be best suited to my tastes as I felt that I could apply most of my creative ability to a brief that i had genuine interest in.
My next task was choosing a song to act as the soundtrack to the video. As mentioned in previous posts, my boyfriend plays in a pop/rock band and I therefore felt that by using this band, I was using reliable and very talented actors/musicians.
I firstly decided to select a song from the pop/rock genre as this was a genre I found to be very popular with myself and my target audience, as found through my Facebook research group. I then found that McFly were a very influential band as they have achieved great success in the pop/rock genre. I found that their first single, Five Colours in Her Hair to be the most fun and lively song, which I believe personally captures the playful yet enticing pop/rock genre.
The band that I used, The Maverick Rejects had already recorded and achieved the copyrights to this song, and I therefore decided that this song would be most appropriate for me to work with.
