Here is the 'Kiss You' video by One Direction. I feel this video incorporates the 'fun' elements that the pop genre prides itself on- with the content of the video being quite farcical and playful. The song itself has a prominent drum beat which makes the song catchy and easy to dance to- a typical convention of the pop genre and also the sub-genre of pop/rock. I will try to take this into consideration when choosing my own song in order to maintain a clear pop genre, whilst trying to incorporate a clear guitar sound which is conventional of my sub-genre: pop/rock.
In terms of editing, I particularly like the vintage/ old fashioned countdown traditionally featured in 50's movies etc. I feel this supports the rock and roll aspects of the genre that I would like to incorporate. I will therefore look into including something like this in my own product. In addition, I like the titling of the music video, stating the song title and the band name- this is something that I will also look to include in my own product. The boy band featured in this video are dressing up in uniforms/outfits which I feel adds to the 'farcical' element of the video and this is something that I will experiment with.
