As you can see above, I have contacted local actress and friend, Hazel Pude. Hazel is a reliable and professional actress, and therefore I have the utmost confidence in her performance and commitment. The role that I have asked Hazel to perform is that of the 'new girl' at work and she is fawned over by the male band members. Her character needs to play on the stereotype of the teenage boys ideals and highlight the superficiality of the whole scenario. A common convention of pop videos and in particular pop/rock is that an attractive girl that is trying to be wooed and can be dressed in such a manner that can be shown to be alluring to the males. Therefore, by choosing Hazel to act in my music video, I am being conventional of the sub-genre and pop genre. It could be argued that by sexualising a female in a music video targeted at teenage girls could create an unrealistic idea of how girls should portray themselves. However, by the end of the video, it is made distinctly clear that the whole scenario is total fiction and product of one of the band member's wild imagination.
